The fans queued from the early hours of the morning in anticipation for Sandown Park’s last concert of the summer series which featured the Irish Pop group sensation Westlife performing live after racing to a bumper crowd of over 14,000 people.

Westlife are reportedly teaming up with the producer who is behind Take That's current comeback.

The Irish pop group are working on their new album with top American producer John Shanks, reports the Irish Daily Star.
A source told the newspaper: "It's a major coup for Westlife to get this producer he's produced all the big acts from Bon Jovi to the Backstreet Boys and Take That.
"They wanted him for their last album but weren't able to get him. They're thrilled that he's agreed to work with them on this album."
Shanks worked on the Take That albums 'Beautiful World' and 'The Circus' and wrote their number one hits 'Greatest Day and Patience'.
Westlife flew to London last week to begin work on their new record, which they plan to release in November.

Westlife crooner Shane Filan, 30, and his wife Gillian are enjoying life in their new Surrey bolthole - a Georgian house in Cobham which is set in half an acre.
'It's private and we have great neighbours. We plan to spend half the year here and half in Ireland,' says Shane, who also owns a mock Tudor mansion in Carraroe, Co. Sligo.
Shane is already familiar with the area as he takes his children Nicole Rose, five, Patrick Michael, one, and six month old Shane Peter to near by Chessington World of Adventures, and he enjoys playing golf at Wentworth.
Shane and brother Finbarr are spearheading a luxury housing development in Sligo where they hope to build 63 apartments.

10,000 people are expected at Ashton Gate this evening to watch Westlife perform.

The "man band" have sold 43 million records worldwide, with 14 number one singles and 10 chart-topping albums.

With a capacity of 15,000 at Bristol City's ground, there are still around 5,000 tickets left for the gig.

Bosses are hoping it is going to be a family event, and have now released a special family ticket for two adults and two children, that can be purchased for £50.

Group Managing Director of Bristol City FC, Doug Harman is expecting a great crowd:

"I think they've had some really good reviews from their tour to date, and we anticipate a really good show. We've just released two more blocks for general sale to families, so we can get two adults and two kids in for £50. The weather forecast is brilliant, so if people have got no plans we recommend they come and see a really good show with us."

They may have been going strong for 12 years, but Irish pop sensations Westlife can still effortlessly whip a crowd into a frenzy.
At Birmingham’s LG Arena last night, the lads showed other boy bands just how it’s done – and what has brought them such longevity in the music industry.
From the start, the adoring sell-out crowd was on its feet singing and dancing to some if the group’s best known hits and a few surprise songs too. To ear-piercing screams and impressive lighting effects, the boys burst on to the stage with a bang to the title track of the tour, Where We Are. Fans were transported back to the beginning of the group’s career with a performance of their first hit Swear it All Over Again, as well as other older favourites such as Uptown Girl. The lads at one point took the tempo down a notch for a quieter set, which included Barry Manilow hit Mandy and If I Let You Go, where the four piece- made up of Shane Filan, Nicky Byrne, Kian Egan and Mark Feehily – got the chance to show off their full vocal range. Best known these days for being perched on stools and belting our ballads, the band showed off a different side when they performed an up-tempo mash up of pop hits.
This kind of medley has become a popular staple of most recent Westlife shows, and last night was no exception. Fans were moved when the boys returned for their encore, dressed in smart suits, to perform their smash hit ballad Flying Without Wings. You Raise Me Up – a song which has been covered more than 125 times – brought the curtain down on the evening along with deafening applause.
Westlife have grown up but it looks like this is one boy band that will be around for a good few years yet.

Westlife IS to play a concert at Lissadell House in Co Sligo on July 30th.
The concert takes place a day before Leonard Cohen plays to nights at the stately home where WB Yeats visited Countess Constance Markievicz.
Kian Egan, one of three Sligo-born singers in Westlife, recalled they had previously played in the town’s Markievicz Park. “We’ve been itching to get back home ever since.”
Lissadell is closed to the public while a dispute over rights-of-way on the estate is heard in the High Court between owners Edward Walsh and Constance Cassidy, and Sligo County Council.
The couple’s principal address is Morristown, Lattin, Naas, Co Kildare, but they use Lissadell as a second home. They bought the estate for almost €4 million in 2003. They have spent some €9.5 million restoring it and claim they cannot operate it as a tourist amenity if public rights of way exist.
Up to 10,000 people will be seated outdoors during each of the three nights of the Leonard Cohen and Westlife shows.
Sligo County Council has given planning permission and detailed talks have taken place with gardaí, who have been given assurances on security.
Most concert-goers are expected to have left the venue well before midnight, with many staying in accommodation in Sligo and Bundoran, Co Donegal.

More than 5,000 tickets have been sold for Westlife's outdoor concert at Ashton Gate in Bristol.

The Irish pop group will perform at the Bristol City ground on Thursday, June 17.

A total of 15,000 tickets went on sale at 7am on Friday morning, priced between £35 and £50, and a third of those had already been snapped up yesterday.

Bristol City spokesman Ed Furniss said: "We've had a tremendous response since sales began on Friday and are looking forward to another successful outdoor concert at Ashton Gate this June.

"Only a limited number of top-price seats nearer to the stage remain available. As a result, we recommend people buy sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment."

BOYBAND titans Westlife and indie superstars Razorlight now complete the stellar line-up for Sandown Park’s summer series of Music Nights.

Along with Spandau Ballet, who will be bringing the 80s back with their New Romantic charm on June 3, the racecourse will play host to chart toppers Razorlight on July 21 and Louis Walsh-backed Westlife on August 5.

Westlife, the Irish four-piece consisting of Mark Feehily, Shane Filan, Kian Egan and Nicky Byrne, will be performing classic anthems from their back catalogue of 14 number one singles, such as Mandy, Flying Without Wings and If I Let You Go, along with new material from their forthcoming release Where We Are.

Credited as the 'second biggest selling artist' of the decade, they have been busy working alongside some of the best and current songwriters, to bring what is claimed to be their most exciting album to date. These include Ryan Tedder (Leona Lewis, Beyonce) and Sam Watters (Whitney Houston, Anastacia).

The Irish boyband shot straight in with their new single 'The Rose' to claim their 14th chart topper.

U2 and Green Day went up four places to Number Two after their Skids cover 'The Saints Are Coming' went in at Six on downloads alone last week.

Irish band WESTLIFE are still fuming after BOB GELDOF snubbed them over 2004's Band Aid II single - because he could have raised more cash for charity if he'd included them.The former Boomtown Rats star left the Flying Without Wings hitmakers off the charity song, dismissing them at the time as "not relevant". But the four-piece is still reeling from the snub because they believe Geldof was just on a "power trip".

Singer Kian Egan says, "I think that was pretty rich given he only started his international campaigning when he realised the Boomtown Rats weren't relevant any more."

Bandmate Nicky Byrne adds, "Bob Geldof didn't include us on the Band Aid II single, even though we were the biggest band at the time. He could have made even more money for charity by having us sing, but he chose (British groups) Busted and Sugababes because he was on some sort of elitist power trip." The group's Mark Feehily is also sick of their 'uncool' image: "We are a pop group, striving to make the best pop music we can. We don't claim to be anything other than good singers, and to dismiss us just because we might not be to some rock critic's taste, is to insult the millions of people who buy our records and enjoy what we do."

An Irish pop group Westlife shaped on 3 July 1998. The band’s original arrangement consists of Nicky Byrne, Kian Egan, Mark Feehily, Shane Filan and Brian McFadden (2004). The band is the only act in UK history to have their first seven singles go straight to Number 1, and they have gone on to sell over 45 million records globally.

They were signed by Simon Cowell and are managed by Louis Walsh. In 2008, Westlife were declared as Ireland’s ninth-richest celebrities under 30 years old and 13th in general. They gathered 14 number one singles in the United Kingdom, the third-highest in UK history, tying with Cliff Richard and trailing behind only Elvis Presley and The Beatles. The band has also broken a few top records, including “Music artist with most consecutive number 1’s in the UK” and the “Biggest selling arena act in the Wembley Arena”.
