Tickets selling fast for Westlife and T4 on the Beach gigs

More than 5,000 tickets have been sold for Westlife's outdoor concert at Ashton Gate in Bristol.

The Irish pop group will perform at the Bristol City ground on Thursday, June 17.

A total of 15,000 tickets went on sale at 7am on Friday morning, priced between £35 and £50, and a third of those had already been snapped up yesterday.

Bristol City spokesman Ed Furniss said: "We've had a tremendous response since sales began on Friday and are looking forward to another successful outdoor concert at Ashton Gate this June.

"Only a limited number of top-price seats nearer to the stage remain available. As a result, we recommend people buy sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment."

Westlife join Boyzone for Stephen Gately tribute

In a true boyband extravaganza, Irish heartthrobs Boyzone and Westlife shared a stage tonight during ITV’s tribute to Stephen Gately.

We imagine that the joint appearance of the sexy stars duetting on ‘No Matter What’ got the nation’s housewives excited enough to show the nation’s husbands a good time tonight. Of course the appearance of Mika will have counteracted that a little bit but we enjoyed it all the same!

Westlife and Razorlight complete Sandown Park bill

BOYBAND titans Westlife and indie superstars Razorlight now complete the stellar line-up for Sandown Park’s summer series of Music Nights.

Along with Spandau Ballet, who will be bringing the 80s back with their New Romantic charm on June 3, the racecourse will play host to chart toppers Razorlight on July 21 and Louis Walsh-backed Westlife on August 5.

Westlife, the Irish four-piece consisting of Mark Feehily, Shane Filan, Kian Egan and Nicky Byrne, will be performing classic anthems from their back catalogue of 14 number one singles, such as Mandy, Flying Without Wings and If I Let You Go, along with new material from their forthcoming release Where We Are.

Credited as the 'second biggest selling artist' of the decade, they have been busy working alongside some of the best and current songwriters, to bring what is claimed to be their most exciting album to date. These include Ryan Tedder (Leona Lewis, Beyonce) and Sam Watters (Whitney Houston, Anastacia).

Filan said: “We’ve been experimenting with a fresh vibe on this record, working with new producers and writing songs for the album ourselves. After 11 years we see this as phase two of the Westlife story.”

Best known for their songs America and In The Morning, Razorlight will be grabbing their guitars and putting on a more rock ‘n’ roll show for an eager crowd at the Esher venue.
The skinny jean-clad Londonites fronted by the boisterous Johnny Borrell have clocked up an enviable amount of achievements, including two BRIT Award nominations, hundreds of sold-out arena shows, festival headline slots and album sales figures flying past the four million mark.
David Mackinnon, managing director for Sandown Park Racecourse, said: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome Razorlight here this summer. They are a major international rock band who are certain to be extremely popular amongst our racegoers.”

Following on from previous shows from the likes of Girls Aloud and Boyzone at the popular racecourse, both of the massive events are expected to sell out so fans are advised to book early to avoid disappointment
